Day 1: New Day

I decided to start a blog today. Blogs have never really appealed to me, though I did try to start one once....that didn't last long. I hope this time will be a different story. What inspired me to write a blog was seeing that one of my friends started one. After reading some of her stuff I decided that maybe this would be a good way for me to express myself.
Currently I am a Junior attending Cal Poly Pomona majoring in Kinesiology. I love telling people my major because they always ask me what it is, kind of makes me feel original...even though the truth is that it's such a rare and useless major to most people that they don't even know what it is.
Since I reside at Cal Poly I don't get to go home that much (until I get my CAR!). I remember when I was a Freshman and I LOVED college just because it meant freedom and that I was now a grown up, I dreaded going home for any reason even if it was just for the weekend. I looked forward to coming back to school and being able to make my own decisions rather than have my parents tell me what I can/can't do or even how long I can stay out. Now after last Summer I can't wait to go home and visit the people I love most. I know what to expect when I go home and stay a while, it will be the same thing of my parents lecturing me about what I should be doing and that I shouldn't go out late at night. They are parents and they will always be that way no matter how old you are. Now that I've come to realize that I love going home.
Last Summer was probably one of the best ones I've had so far. I got more involved in my church and hung out with my wonderful boyfriend too. I was able to help out in the Children's Ministry and had a job in my church's office. Most of the time I didn't see it as a job, I enjoyed it way too much for that. I especially loved that I got to know my church family a lot better including Lynne Wong. I met Lynne and her husband Gary back when I was a Senior in H.S we had talked, but not as much s we did this Summer. I really enjoy their company and appreciate the fact that they were able to get me tickets to USC games....many times. There are no words that I can express my gratitude for them.
For my first blog I feel that this is pretty long, hopefully this means I will continue it longer than just 3 posts!
Til Next Time!
This is or summer team ready for the boat race, hopefully we will win next year!
